Cisco Router Password Recovery

Startup the router and disrupt the boot sequence by putting a break to take the router into ROM monitor mode.

1.  Boot the router
2.  Set the configuration register value 0x2142.
3.  Reboot router.
4.  Enter in Hash (#) also known as privileged mode.
5.  Copy the startup-configuration file (NVRAM) to running-configuration (RAM)
6.  Modify the password.
7.  Set the config register to original value.
8.  Save the configuration and reboot router.
