Cache memory
Cache memory is referred to as the random access memory where the information and data are stored for a longer time period. In this memory the user can read and write the information easily. The cache memory is quickly accessible to the person as it is one of the micro processor memories of the computer. Most of the information is found to be stored on the cache memory so that the person can easily retrieve the information. Cache memory allows the person to access the data contained in it at a higher speed as compared to the data that can be accessed by the person on the normal random access memory. The working of the cache memory is very much similar to the random access memory. First of all the entire data is contained in the cache memory when the micro processor is used to process the data. After that the information regarding the particular data is located and then it is read which in fact is found to e a time consuming process for the cache memory and its usage. In fact the cache memory can be easily accessible to the person which is one of the important features of it. The information is stored in the cache memory and the cache memory can be thought of as the hard drive where the information storage takes place. However it had been observed that some of the cache memory which is very much similar to RAM is built in the central processing unit of the computer and hence it is used as one of the most important element of the computer. The cache memory is such a memory where the COU first of all searched for any information that needs to be found out at the time it is needed and hence was also stored by the user too.
