Data warehousing
Data warehousing is the collection of different types of data for the purpose of its inspection and analysis. The data can be entered into multiple computers at the same time as all the computers within an organization are interconnected with each other which in turn reduces the time of the people working there. The data that needs to be entered in the computers at different point in time can be either raw data or processed data. The collection of multiple computers for data entry is known as a warehouse system and then this system is used to form a new system which is working on a larger scale.
Moreover the data which is collected within an organization can be of different types such as their sales volumes, productivity, salaries and others. The data warehousing system is mainly used at the operational level as the operational management in any firm is responsible for the reporting and the maintenance of different sort of information and data. The reports generated by the operation management had to be sent over to the managers. This allows the mangers to easily interact with other business processes of the organizations. It is used among different companies as they had the availability of data in larger scale so the presence of data warehouse makes it easy for them.
The storage of the data is conducted in the data warehouse and before the data is stored, it is processed into a readily available data for other people by passing it through certain stages. The database that is to be generated and stored in warehouses can either take place on online or offline basis and the integration of the systems is an important factor for the working of the data warehouses as it helps the upper level management and the managers in the key decision making process for the success of the organization.
