DHCP
DHCP is the abbreviation of complete term i.e. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It is a protocol designed for forming the dynamical IP addresses to the connected devices throughout the network environment. While using such dynamic addressing technique, the devices can have multiple IP addresses whenever these are connected to the network. Sometimes, the device’s IP address can also be changed while the same is connected. In addition a blend of static as well as dynamic IP addresses can also be supported by the DHCP.
While using the DHCP technique we can simplify the dynamic addressing administration. Actually this software keeps the track of the IP addresses without requiring an administration set up to control such an arrangement. So it would be much more easier to add another computer into the same network without any hassle of assigning the unique IP address manually.
Thus using the DHCP technique helps the users and network administers to easily mange and administers the network environment for smooth operation of all the connected systems.
For dial users, most of the ISP’s are using DHCP technique for assigning the dynamic IP addressing to their subscribers.
