Docking Station
A docking station is a type of hardware which is mainly used with the computer system as it is providing people with many services. The first important thing needs to be taken into account for the dock station is that the connection needs to exist when the working of the dock station takes place. This service is mainly found to be used on the computer that are desktop or personal computers and even at times the notebook computers can also be used as well. It had also been observed that the notebook computer makes it quite easy for the desktop computer to be connected with each other and even at time the electrical interface connection must exist.
Docking station allows the interface to be easily used with certain devices such as the local printers, scanners and other devices which are mainly meant for the purpose of data storage but in a larger quantity. Mainly for the data storage the back up of the files is also necessary this makes it easy for the person to keep track of the files. However it had also been observed that the devices which cannot be connected with the notebook computer can also be used with it as well.
The networking interface card along with the local area network is somehow the components of the docking station and for the docking station to exist it must be taken into account that the notebook computer must be connected with the local area network so that the docking station can work. However at time the docking station is also known as the doc or the port replicator. They serve for the many purpose but the main purpose of the port replicator is to increase the number of ports so that different items can be connected to it when multiple tasks needs to be carried out.
