IMAP

IMAP is the internet messaging access protocol which had been designed for the purpose of retrieving all the information that had been contained in the e-mail. This had been used as an internet standard as it is connected with e-mail. This protocol is mostly being supported by the e-mail clients and the mail servers as it makes it easy for the person to transfer the messages and other kind of information from one server network o the other server network for the client. Thus transferring of the e-mails had become one of the most widely used services and is also an easy form of transmission of information too.

For the IMAP to work properly it must be ensured that all the activities are being carried out with the presence of two servers which means that e-mail server must be present on both sides making it easy for the user to communicate the information that needs to be delivered. At times the IMAP service is also known as the application layer internet protocol as well. Mostly different ports had been developed for this internet protocol and the new version of IMAP which is IMAP 4 had been developed which is working on a faster rate as compared to the older one.

This service is very much similar to the post office protocol, IMAP 4 ad other inter services as it is working in the same way as those are working. Moreover through this service the information can be downloaded by the person easily and it depends upon the person that which sort of information needs to b downloaded. This service works in both the operation either online or offline. The service provides similar benefits o the user in its usage capacity for online and offline. Apart from e-mail, the user can also access the mails store too for the purpose of checking the messages.
