IP

Both the letters are read separately and is the short for the complete term “Internet Protocol”. It determines the format of packets or the datagrams as well as of the addressing scheme. Majority of the networks combines the IP to Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) a higher level protocol which establishes a connectional between the source and a destination.

The IP works like a postal mechanism while allowing us to address a package or drop it in the system. However, it doesn’t establish a direct connection between us and the recipient. Transmission Control Protocol and IP on the other hand sets up a connection between two hosts in order to enable to transmit the messages back and forth within a specific timeframe.

Though the most recent version of IP was Ipv4 and another subsequent version known as Ipv6 or Ipng is also developed.
