IPv6 Multicast Addresses

There are two main types of Internet Protocol Version 6. That are defined as fixed scope and variable scope multicast addresses.

The IPv6 multicast addresses are different from the unicast addresses due to the value of the high-order octet present in the addresses: the given value [0xFF (binary 11111111)] gives us the location of a multicast address; the value other then this syntax identifies the address of a unicast address.
Fixed Scope Multicast Address is as follows:

The addresses quoted here are permanently assigned to the IPv6, but up to some specific extent of the scope value.

Node-Local Scope

FF01:0:0:0:0:0:0:1     the address of all nodes
FF01:0:0:0:0:0:0:2     the address of all routers

Link-Local Scope

FF02:0:0:0:0:0:0:1     the address of all nodes
FF02:0:0:0:0:0:0:2     the address of all routers
   FF02:0:0:0:0:0:0:3     Unassigned

 Site-Local Scope

FF05:0:0:0:0:0:0:2       the address of all routers
   FF05:0:0:0:0:0:0: FB      mDNSv6

   Variable Scope Multicast Addresses

The multicasts addresses are applicable for all types of scope ranges that have a valid syntax. IPv6 multicast addresses that are only vary in the scope level are for representing different groups. Remember that the nodes should join each group.

The most used multicast addresses are listed below:
