MAC layer

MAC layer is the Media Access control which serves for the data communication purpose. This layer had been designed to generate a link between the data and hence it acts as a sub layer between the data communication. This is also responsible for the act of transferring packets of data from one place to the other. The data packets are being transferred from network interface card to some other place. The network interface card serves as the important place in the transfer of the data from different locations. The OSI model is also another thing which also plays a role in the MAC layer.

In the creation of the MAC layer, it can be found out that the protocols of MAC are being used in it which makes it easy to figure out that what exactly is being used and how. The MAC protocols makes it easy for the person to have an access to different places at the same time the MAC protocols in the MAC layer is also responsible for the signals that are being sent from one place to the another and thus it must be ensured that the signals which are being sent must not be interesting or colliding which each other. The signals must be sent to different points from specific stations separately.

On the other hand the MAC layer is also sometimes known as the multiple access protocol which serves for the purpose of channel access mechanism. In many situations all the information is being shared at single point and hence all the stations must be interconnected with each other so that each and everything can work properly.  However medium access controller is the other thing that is mainly being used by the MAC layer and this is referred to be used as the hardware component of the layer
