Network

Two or more computers interconnected with each other through a defined set up of networking protocols, is called a network.

There exist many different types of networking including the following.

LANs (Local Area Networks)
In the LAN set up, the computers are placed on a same premises/building closer to each other.

WANs (Wide Area Networks)
In this set up (WAN) computers are kept/used at some distant places are connected via radio waves or telephone lines.

CANs (Campus Area Networks)
In this technique of networking, computers are placed within a specific geographic areas like educational campus or army garrison etc. etc.

MANs (Metropolitan-Area Networks
This is a type of networking developed for local entities such town committee or city district government to conduct day to functions over the group of computers.
