Non-volatile memory
Non volatile memory is the form of memory which is responsible for the purpose of data storage and hence they stores the data for a longer time period. Moreover the data in this type of memory is being stored till the time when the computer had been turned off. This memory is mainly used by people as no one wants their entire data to be lost so non volatile memory prevents the entire data of the people from being lost in certain situations.
However it had been found out that the random access memory is a volatile memory where the data and other information can’t be stored for a longer time period which means that as soon as the computer is turned off the stored data in the memory is lost but the ROM is the memory which allows people to keep their data with themselves even if the computer power had been switched off. This is one of the most beneficial features of the non volatile memory. Moreover the non volatile feature of the memory can also be referred to as the BIOs system in PC where the information is stored in the CMOS memory of the computer. Apart from the read only memory which is the Rom, the flash memory is also in example of the non volatile memory.
However in many situations the optical disks, computer storage devices, floppy disks, hard disks, paper tape and many other can be used as a non volatile memory. The non volatile memory allows people to easily retrieve the information that had been stored on different locations of the computer. The non volatile memory is also referred to as the secondary storage where the information is stored for a longer time period. It had been found out that each and everything that us contained is the random access memory is lost and the non volatile is somehow the most effective alternative for such a memory usage
