NTP

Network Time Protocol (NTP)is the globally recognized standard protocol which make sure the accurate syncronization to the millisecond of the computer clock time at a networking setup of different computers.

While depending on the UTC, NTP synchronizes the client workstation clocks to the US Naval Observatory Master Clocks in Washington DC in addition to Colorado Springs CO.

The NTP while  running as the constant background client program, NTP transmits periodic time requests to network servers while obtaining server time stamps and making use of them so as to adjust the client machine’s clock.

In RFC 1305, the recent version of NTP is defined.
