RTSP

RTSP is short for a complete term i.e. Real Time Streaming Protocol. It is a standard protocol used to control the streaming data over the Internet.

Similar to H.323, RTSP uses the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) in formatting the packets of multimedia content. Whereas, H.323 was designed for video conferencing of the properly sized groups. RTSP is developed to broadcast efficiently the audio-visual data to the larger groups.

RTSP was developed as a result of work performed by Columbia University, Netscape and Real Networks.
