SBC
SBC is the short of Session Border Controller. The SBC (session border controller) is a part of network equipment or the allocation of functions capable to conroling real-time session traffic at the signaling, call control and packet layers while the crossing the notional packet-to-packet network border which exists between network segments.
SBCs considered as critical to the evolution of VoIP networks as these address the inability of real-time session traffic to cross NAT (Network Address Translation) device or firewall boundaries.
