Server

Server is computer machine which controls the network resource in networking environment. There exists a number of various types of servers. Some of the popular types narrated here below.

The file Server:
A file server is a machine/computer which is exclusively used for storing the data files. Thus the users on the networking set up can easily store/exchange files over the file server.

The Print Server
Print server is a machine/computer that controls the single or multiple printers.

The Database Server:
It is a machine/computer that is used to process the database functions/queries.

Mostly the servers are dedicated computer which only perform the typical predefined server tasks. However, the operating systems with multiple processing operating systems can handle the multiple programs simultaneously. In this case the a server used to refer the program which is controlling the resources instead of the complete computer.
