TCP/IP

This is a short for a complete term i.e. Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. It is a set of communication protocols that is adopted to connect the hosts on internet. TCP/IP make use of many protocols which includes the two most common types such as TCP and IP. Particularly the TCP/IP is built into the UNIX operating system is used over the internet while making it the de facto standard for relaying data over the different networks. Moreover, the network operating systems having their own protocols like Netware etc. are also supporting TCP/IP.
