WAV file
WAV file is the short form of WAVE as the particular file is stored in .wav format. In fact WAV is the waveform audio file format which had been used with the audio form files. The audio files are mainly the songs. All the audio items are stored on the computer with this file format as it is one of the standard file formats. It had been found out that in other types of computers such as the Macintosh or Amiga computers, the files are stored with the AIFF format. AIFF format files can be used as an alternative to the WAV files.
The WAV files can be played on every application but some of the applications are such which does not support the wav format files. The wav files are not only supported by the Macintosh computers but they can also be used with the Linux and the windows operating system computers as well. Wav files can also be used by those windows and audio form files which does not have gone through any sort of conversion process. The wav form files are also used by the broadcaster as well. This is used by people on a larger scale. The wav file had been used from a longer time period and mainly this had been supported by the systems that were used in Australia.
Moreover it had been found out that the wav format files can easily hold and play the compressed form files which are audio in nature. The linear pulse code modification is the format in which the wav files are contained and hence are not at all compressed. Metadata is also another thing, which can also be used for the wav files and wav files can be easily tagged in the metadata files. In some othr form of windows, the wav file is also supported by the user interface.
