What Is BYOD

It is relatively a new term that is used in the area of communication especially in the world of internet communication. BYOD is the latest abbreviation of Bring Your Own Device. A lay man will not understand this term as it does not means what it is telling.  This term refers to that community who has bought their components for internet telephone that is called VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Now days a lot of companies are delivering the VoIP services and also offer you the whole hardware system that is essential for using the service. That cost a lot of money as they chare the customer for the cost of hardware and the service they are providing. Also they charge for the maintenance and up gradation if you need any.

So some people buy their own devices and other hardware and software components that are needed to establish the entire set up. They only buy the internet service that connects them to a network they want to. This saves money as you only have to pay for the network service and not for the hardware components. You can also take care of your gear and by doing so you can save your money.

It is not as easy as it looks because you but your own hardware system and then you go for a service and then comes the compatibility issues. The provider claims that your hardware is not compatible with their service. Then you will have to either buy a new system or you have to take the complete services from the companies.
Also when you are using your own device then some security risks are also involved as it can be hacked easily by someone else and the illegal use of the service can be. This cannot happen if you are using a hardware installed by the company itself as it is locked and programmed against security threats.
