What Is Computer

It is said to be the greatest invention of 20th century as it has changed human life a lot. Due to the invention of computer such things have become possible which were not possible if it was not present. It is said to be a machine that is specifically programmed to accept input then it works on that input means process that input shows some result as an output and stores away the important information in its memory.  It is the simplest definition of the most complex machine computer. A simple desktop computer that is present in every house now days has some important components that collectively make it work and we get desired results. It has a system unit that is like a box which is a collection of some electronic components that act as the processing units of the system.

The central processing unit is the main component that is responsible for processing all the instructions that are given to it. Then it has permanent memory chip called the hard disk that stores all the necessary data of your system along with all the data you want to store in it.  There are other components like ram, rom, graphic card, and voice card. These all components are fixed on a central board called the mother board. Mother board has many other ports and slots to accommodate any other components.

There are some input devices whose functionality is to deliver the instructions that we want to give to the computer. Some necessary input devices are mouse and keyboard.  Mouse is use to handle the pointer on the display screen. Keyboard is like a type writer with some additional keys and used to enter all types of alphanumeric characters. Output devices include monitor that is the display of all the activities of your system.  These are the most important parts of a computer without them the computer does not work.
