As the world is changing in every field of life and becoming advance so is the crime becoming advance and more difficult to catch. Fraud over Internet Protocol is the crime that has been detected that has caused a huge loss to some internet service providers. This term was not used previously but other crimes or frauds were reported on the internet. VoIP has been introduced short while ago and it is being used widely by people so the security measures are not designed to keep it safe from external interruption.

These issues were not highlighted until some very serious events took place and some VoIP providers had to face a loss of millions of dollars. Initially all the service providers were trying to get the customers attracted and gets more business and the security was not given a high priority. Anyone could easily hack into the system and can use the service for his self or even it can be also distributed to other users and they can be charged. In this way the original service provider can get a loss of the service and also money. If this illegal use of the service continues then it will affect the service as an extra load will be on the service and the service provider will not be able to track the problem.

After some reports and huge loses the companies have started special departments that are responsible for the monitoring of the system and also making the system so secure that outsiders are not allowed to intrude the system and use the service as they want to. A whole set of security standards have been devised by organizations that are also accepted by the international organizations. Now the fraud over internet is under control and a very few cases are seen.
