What Is Hop Off

Many new terms have been evolved since the computer science and information technology has evolved. These terms tell about a specific act or event that is executed at a particular time.  Hop off is a relative term in information technology and also in today’s modern world of communication that means the position at which the signal enters another network and leaves the previous network. This phenomena is very common now days and as many different types of networks are working simultaneously and providing services to people. The call connections are made between different types of networks so there compatibility is an issue. As when a signal or a data is being transmitted over a network and reaches the edge where it is to be handled to the initial point of the other network at this point both the networks are responsible for the delivery of that signal remains error free and it is delivered to the destination.

It is a bridge that connects the two networks for the proper establishment of communication channel between the two networks. All the networks are not similar and are working on different principles. If these two networks are not compatible then the communication will not be possible.  It is important as it also gives the information about the signals that when they are starting and when they are going to end. The signals are sent in small parts or packets every packet has its own information so that it can be interpreted correctly according to its original setup. In this process special programs or algorithms are used that are known as protocols of communication that are to be followed and they are like some rules. This is very useful and important phenomena for the communication between modern type networks and also old type of networks.
