What Is IAX

To transfer data using internet requires some standards that are to be followed. Many different types of data are sent using the same communication line. So it is very important to develop every type of algorithms so that there is no problem in the transfer of data. These standards are called protocols and one of them is Inter Asterisk Exchange (IAX). This protocol can be used to transfer multiple types of data such as audio and video or other media related data. Previously this type of data was sent using other protocols that are not so efficient and also they are not as fast as IAX is.

It is also good in a sense that it can be programmed easily according to the network that you are using to transfer data. This is was originally developed to transfer the voice calls using internet but now it is also used to transfer other than voice calls. Previously a huge space of communication media was used to transfer a specific amount of data but after the development of IAX this has been minimized to a great extent and now more amounts of data can be sent using the same communication line as previously could be sent. IAX has also enabled to transfer media files over communication media that has a slow speed and less transfer rate.

As IAX provides a single medium for the transfer of almost every type of media files on a single line so it is quite easy to secure a single line carrying data instead of many different lines carrying different types of data. Single line can be easily monitored when communication is under process and certain new algorithms have been used to keep this communication secure and unaffected. Error handling is also very easy in IAX.
