What Is IP-PBX
Many large organizations use a telephone system in which every communication activity is controlled by them. This system is connected to every telephone set in that organization that may be in a single building may be far apart from each other. They all are connected to a single endpoint from where they are controlled or managed. This all network is termed as a private exchange. Now days as the telephone communication has been shifted to internet telephone so this private exchange system is now called Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange (IP-PBX).
It is same to the traditional exchange system with some additional features that are provided by the internet services and these features are not available if the conventional structure is used. It is responsible for all the communication activities like call distribution inside the system and outside system. Call connection to different lines and managing resources according to the network capabilities.
Internet communication is much quicker and efficient in managing all these activities that were maintained by old system. Voice conferencing and video conferencing is also one of the features that are only provided by the internet service. This system is not very cheap and a big setup is required to complete all the functionality of the system. The hardware that is required to establish internet protocol private branch exchange is also expensive. Skilled staff is required to maintain the system and make the call connections. Many organizations use this service by buying some connections that they need for their work and do not buy all the expensive equipment. Their system is maintained by the service provider and in this way they do not have to keep special staff for their communication purpose. This IP-PBX can be improved and also it can be increased or decreased according to the requirement of an organization.
