What Is Jitter

The term jitter is associated to many different types of phenomena and some of them will be discussed in the following article. Sometimes you might notice that your display screen that could be display monitor or LCD monitor or even laptop screen blinks without any reason. This event is called jitter. There are many causes for it such as there might be a problem with your display screen like a hardware problem in which some wires have be dislocated or become lose and they make a spark that cause jitter on your screen. Other reason behind it may be that your video display card has gotten damage so it is responsible for the jitter on the screen. If your display screen jitters than you must check every possible reason that might be causing it. Otherwise it may cause some severe damage.

Jitter in other term is defined as device that consists of hardware and software components. It is used in the managing the voice signals that are transmitted over the communication medium especially when internet telephony is being used.
It is responsible for the management of voice signals that are being received constantly by the other end with some delay. As the complete conversation is divided into small piece of data so that it can be transmitted over the communication line so there is a small time interval in every piece of data that is taken to decode it for communication line. This delay along with the voice signal is handled by jitter and then rearranged according to correct arrangement so that the conversation is correct and without any fault. Is jitter is not functioning well then there is a huge possibility that the voice conversation may miss some parts and even complete loss of entire conversation can result.
