What Is QSIG

Voice transmission is done on different types of networks like the traditional phone line and the internet phone line. To transmit voice these networks use different techniques and procedures depending upon the condition of their network.
Traditional phone line transmits data in the form of analog signals from source to destination. These phone lines are used extensively in places where there is a need of a lot of phones lines to carry voice communication every time. These organizations have an independent phone system that allows them to have a setup like a private branch that is automated by the help of computer processing. This private exchange is responsible for all the call activities like connecting the calls inside the network. Establishing links for the calls coming from outside of the network and after the completion of the communication to send the report to the network administrator that a certain line is free for the next connection.

These all can be done by using some standards or protocols that allow a certain link to be established after fulfilling all the requirements. QSIG can be used for the traditional phone line system as a protocol of communication in the systems that are using the architecture of a private branch exchange. In this type of system all the communication activities are controlled at a certain point that can be said as the central point or the hub that is monitoring all the ongoing communication activities.

QSIG can also be used in a private branch exchange system for other things like keeping the calls waiting for some time if the related line is busy somewhere else or it can connect it to some other connection that might be helpful in managing the incoming calls. It is also very efficient in establishing links in short time by choosing a short and free path.
