What Is Registration, Admission Status

Whenever voice communication is being dealt with the help of internet than there are lot things to be handled then in a simple telephone communication line. There are many different stages that are too passed to make an internet voice call successful so that it can be transferred from one place to another. Different standards termed as protocols in the field of telecommunication are involved to carry out the internet communication. A set of rules that are commonly known as registration, admission and status or shortened as RAS is also involved in the internet voice transmission. It is one the most important protocol that is involved in this communication as it has been assigned many activities.

It has to check for every incoming call that whether it has to be connected to a location in the same network or it has to be transferred to some other location. If the call is to be connected to a point in the same network then it must be checked that is it available or not for the incoming call. When the two calls are connected then a special signal is generated so that the dialling end gets the confirmation about the connection of the call.

When the call is passing from different networks then all those networks are engaged to give a certain path to that communication. Otherwise the communication might get delayed by the interruption or blockage of communication line. If any other call wants to connect to one of the already connected calls then it is signalled about being busy or can be signalled to wait for the call.  Call termination is also the process that is carried out by this protocol. When the call is terminated by the any of the connected users then a signal is generated for both the endpoints of those networks that the communication line is free.
