What Is SB-ADPCM
Internet has been very beneficial for the communication means as it has provided too much flexibility in communication. Especially voice communication has been modified a lot by the use of internet. Now internet can be used to do voice calls to any network same as the simple land line can do. It is not simple to transmit voice on internet as it is because internet data transmission consists of digital signals that are coded in a special way where else the voice signals are in a non digital form. To convert these non digital signals into digital form requires different techniques so that the voice transmission can be made possible over internet.
Sub band adaptive differential pulse code modulation or abbreviated as SB-ADPCM is a technique that can be used to code the voice into such type of signals or data form so that it can be easily transmitted across the internet and also other networks that might come in the way of destination. Every network has its own principle of transmitting data so it is important to encode data in a way that it can be used by the network where it is being sent. This is done by adding some additional information which describes the way that how the data packet is to be interpreted and what is the destination of this data.
This algorithm can be used to send voice data that takes more space to be sent in a way that can be compacted and then sent. In this way the same data can be sent in less time and also the communication channel will remain free for other network activities. This technique or algorithm is very helpful in transmitting huge amount of voice data using small communication lines and it also saves the time.
