What Is Session border controller

Internet communication consists of many different types of data combinations that comprise of audio, video or text data. It is not very easy to handle different types of data combinations and then send them on other networks in a short moment. This is done by very quick processing device know as session border controller. Whenever information is travelling on a same network then it has no need to be changed to any other form as it can be well interpreted by the network but the data has to be sent to a different location to some other network then it cannot be sent simply as it is because every network has its own way of transferring data and interpreting it.

This cannot be done by the network or the resources of the network. This is done by the session border controller as it name indicates that this is a system that is present at the start of the network from where data enters or leaves the network and at this point it is converted to a form that can flow on different networks. When data is incoming to a network then the same procedure is used to decode data and then check about the information that is stored in it. If a voice call signal has come with a request to have a connection to some location inside a network than session border controller sends a signal for that location to know whether it is available for connection or not. Then a specific path is assigned to that link so that it can remain established for the rest of the communication and the incoming or outgoing signal does not get blocked in traffic jam.  In this way all the activities are being monitored so the complete communication process is carried out correctly without any problems.
