What Is SIP

Internet telephone is the modern way of communication. It is considered to be a better way of communication because of its high transmission speed of data and the types of data that can be sent and received in internet.  This is carried out by having a complete system to look after and manage every activity of the network. Session initiation protocol is one of the components of the system that is responsible for the internet communication.

Different types of activities are going on a single network at a single time so all the activities are divided according to their type and they are monitored by different components. Session initiation protocol is responsible for all the multimedia activities such as voice call and video calls. Whenever a voice or a video call is to be established inside the network then a signal is generated that two lines want to communicate with each other. After that the availability of the other line is checked and if it is free for the communication then the connection is established and rest of the network is signalled about that particular link and then it is not disturbed by any other incoming call. If some other call wants to communicate to these lines then it is signalled to wait by generating a special tone.

Then at the end of that particular session the complete is again signalled that both the lines are free now and other lines can communicate with them. In this way the network if monitored very closely and no delays in the communication can occur as the system remains active every time.
This is very useful when the communication is being done between different networks. When a certain link has been established between two different networks than many other networks might also get involved in them so it is necessary to tell every network about the update of the link as it has ended or not yet.
