What Is VoIP

Internet can be used to do voice communication. This is possible if you are using some special system that has the ability to use internet as a communication link in such a way. Voice over Internet Protocol is the system that has made it possible to connect the phone lines through internet and use them to make calls to other networks as a simple conventional phone does.  This is a combination of software and hardware component arrangement that allows the digital signals to carry voice to other destinations. This can be done by using the telephone sets or also using the computer system. All you need is equipment that can receive and transmit voice as digital signals so that they can be transferred on the internet line.

This technology is not very old but it has gained a lot of attention due to its additional features that can never be used with an old phone line. These features include conference call in which different phone lines can be connected in such a way that they can hear and talk to everyone at a single time. Call waiting is also a new feature that has been introduced by VoIP which can hold calls for a certain time is line is busy with another line and it also gives signals to the user that another call is waiting for you to answer and then the user can switch between calls or can cancel one of call. Along with voice calling it also has the ability to provide enough speed so that video calling can be done anytime. The video and sound quality is very stable very less problems may occur during the conversation. This system is widely being used in organizations where phone lines are necessary as it is economical and easy to setup.
