How To Add A Computer To A Wireless Network Without The Network Key
more than one computer can be added to your wireless network by using an Ad Hoc wireless network and enabling internet sharing, using Ad Hoc will be like having a walkie talkie everyone.
- First of all you need to declare one computer as your main computer. Next you should install a wireless network adapter and then go to control panel and select network and internet connections.
- There will be an icon with a picture of an earth with a plug on it (again this is also network and internet connections), click on it. Click on your wireless connection icon and select properties. Then select the Wireless Network tab and click on add under the preferred networks. Type your desired name in the association tab in the wireless network screen.
- Now you will have to check the box which says ‘key is provided for me automatically’ and then check the box that states ‘this is a computer to computer (ad hoc) network. Now enter a password of at least thirteen digits (make it difficult to guess for good security) enter the password for the network key and confirm key spaces and ‘ok’ and again ‘ok’. your settings have been saved and now you can add computers to your network.
- You must remember that every computer you add should have a wireless network adapter. Also if the main computer shuts down the others will lose the connection
