How To Set Up A Wi-Fi Spot At Home

with the increase in wireless networking, why not use the opportunity to turn your house into a Wi-Fi spot that the whole neighborhood will look to?

  • Buy a router from an electronics store (search online for good prices and buys, G routers are around 40$). The router pack should also include an RJ45 cable and the power supply.
  • Plug in the router to a power outlet to see if its working, if the lights are up it means youre good. Find a good but unobvious place to plug in the router.
  • Now take the RJ45 cable, plug it up to a modem and then plug into the port that says ‘internet’. after connecting the router to the power you will have to wait for 15 seconds.
  • Crumple up some foil and open it back up, shape it into a semi spherical cup shape, then cut slits directly across each other in the cup. Run the antennae through the slits thereby attaching the foil cups to the antennas. Turn on your wireless radio and clear the list of past connections, search for available wireless networks. The router’s brand name will be the default name for the network, click on it and you will have obscenely fast internet!
  • Be careful that no one does anything illegal through your network though, because you will have to take the blame for it.
