making windows mail work run with wireless internet
this article will advise you on how you can easily use windows mail while working on a wireless network.
- Open up the windows mail program ( in order to create an account, go to tool and scroll down to accounts)
- By going to tools followed by accounts you can access the account you wish to work with. Right click and select properties. Then select advanced.
- A screen will appear that will request for your server port numbers ( for outgoing and incoming mail). Enter the required data (if you do not have this data then contact your ISP’s wireless networking department.
- Enter the numbers and check the box that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)", select "Apply".
- Disable "Dial-Up" and "Local Area Connection," through the connections tab (If these are enabled then your windows mail will not work). Disable them and select ‘apply’ followed by ‘ok’.
- You’re done! Now you can do a test run by sending yourself an email.
