Setting up a Wireless Network
wireless networks offer ease of mobility, sharing of resources and allow multiple users to access the net at the same time. All without the irritant of cables involved.
- First of all purchase a wireless router, pick a good quality one for good performance.
- Attach the Internet cable with the router and use the Ethernet cable to connect the router with the computer used most often. After wireless communication has been established remove the cable.
- Next install router software (usually provided with the router, try to buy the router and adapter from the same manufacturer it improves performance) in the computer. Your network setup wizard might help you through this step.
- All the computers in the network will need a USB and card based adapter ( ithe instruction will be provided and this will be easy to do).laptops usually have wireless capabilities, in which case neither devices need be installed.
- Configure the computers’ security to allow communication and then enable file and printer sharing. Keep a separate folder for file sharing.
