Create a shortcut key or hotkey to clear clipboard in windows

Windows provides the user with the option of clipboard where you can place your unwanted data for some time. It is just like a temporary place to keep data from where you can collect it at once. It takes a little while to clear the clipboard. What if you create a shortcut key and it only takes a little time to clear the clipboard and no one has a chance to see your data even if you forget to erase it just press the shortcut key.

The Windows 7 and Windows vista have a built in function of clearing the clipboard but it is not done by using a shortcut key or it is not for doing this purpose. This can be done by using a small but very efficient technique that solves the problem. We just change a small command and get our required result. The built in function is clip.exe.

Note: if you have copied a huge amount of data and now want to erase it at once you can use the hot key to do so.

Create a Shortcut Icon to Clear the Clipboard

Open the drop down menu of the desktop and select the option of new or shortcut.
After that write the following command in the command box of the new or shortcut option:

Cmd/c “echo off | clip”

As you will type the command in the box an icon will appear that will make the clipboard clear at once.

After that open the properties of that icon and change the option of Run-Drop-Down to “Minimized” to make sure that it does not interrupts the desktop screen and runs silently. Here you can assign the shortcut key to it, so that you can use it to clear the clipboard.

Keep the icon in the start menu or at the destop
