Easily Disable Windows 7 or Vista’s Aero before Running an Application

Windows Aero is the graphical user interface(GUI) and the default theme in most editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, operating systems which have been released by Microsoft. It is an interactive graphical user interface which feels like glass. This GUI is infamous for being unnecessary and for consuming a lot of resources. When running, it uses a lot of your memory and it has another unknown feature you might want to think about. If you’re using Vista on a laptop computer you might notice that Vista drains your battery life much faster than you’d expect.

When you are a gamer or a professional and you need excellent experience on your system then you might be concerned every last bit of performance out of your machine. It can also be such that you are not being able to run an application simply because it has some compatibility problem with Windows Aero. No matter what you want the thing you are looking for is to disable Windows Aero simply.

To disable Windows Aero you will need to go to the properties of the shortcut of the application by right clicking it and choosing Properties. A window will open displaying many tabs. You will need to go to the Compatibility tab. Over there on the settings block you will need to check the “Disable desktop composition” option. This will ensure that the next time you run the application Windows Aero will automatically stop.

Another way to disable Aero is through the Control Panel. Over there in the Appearance and Setting you will need to go to Personalization and select the option which says Change the color scheme. Here you can choose Windows Vista Basic or Windows standard if you like the old look.

For maximum memory usage and good performance by your computer you can disable Aero and then use the full capacity of you system.
