Allow Pings (ICMP Echo Request) Through Your Windows Vista Firewall
The windows vista firewall does not have allowed the use of ping from one computer to another. Hence, the disabling of the firewall for testing purpose can thus lead to severe steps. But there are many simple steps that made the life of the people easy. This is only possible through the ICMP requests that are used through the windows vista firewall. If the user had opened some of the extra tabs, then the user’s computer would alert him through some security risks that would occur.
However, ping is used by people to block those things that they don’t need or don’t want to see. The ICMP Echo request can be added through the use of the command line. In order to let command line take place, the user had to open the administrator mode of the command prompt. This is possible through the run option found in the start menu else the users can open the search menu and write there cmd and after that control, alt and delete needs to be pressed at the same time.
On the other hand, the users can also disable it. Its disabling can take place by entering a command in the command prompt menu or in the DOS, which is linked with the c drive of my computer. The change takes place, as soon as it is disabled and the restarting of the computer does not need to take place. Further the ICMP Echo request can also take place through the GUI.
Firewall needs to be typed by the user in the search engine of the start menu. Through the different options available, the user had to select the windows firewall with advanced security. On the left half of the screen, the user had to click on the inbound rules and thus the Echo request needs to be found in the rules list. Enabling would be immediately effective, when the ser write clicks on the Echo request. The enable option would be found there and hence as a result, it would be enabled.
