Analyze and Manage Hard Drive Space with WinDirStat

Hard drive health and its report could be seen by some of the utilities that are now available in windows vista and windows XP. Hard drive space be seen through a program termed as win dir stat. This programs needs to be installed from the website before determining the hard drive space. ANSI is the main core component of his setup and this need to be checked before it entire installation phase. This could be checked through the opening of the setup of WinDirStat.

Using the WinDirStat is quite easy and simple. The user only had to launch the program after its installations. Through this program, the user can scan a one folder also and it depends upon the user that whether he wants to scan all the drives or the individual drives. While the scanning is being done, the users can see the progress of the folders or drives that are being scanned.

After some time the users could be the Pac-man animations in the window of the WinDirStat. Then as a result, the user could also see the graphical representation of the files that were scanned on the hard drive. This graphical representation is shown in a coloured form and each icon in the hard drive is given a different color so that it is easy for the user to recognise the items from the color.

The files are also in the extension map on the quarter half of the screen and the location of the file is also mentioned. The look of the coloured map, where the items are shown can be changed and the user can select from different styles of map that are available. The customize settings are also available and the user can also clean up the files, by moving the cursor button onto the options tab in the page.
