Customize Your Welcome Picture Choices in Windows Vista

In Windows Vista, we can change the logon/start menu pictures easily but if we select a new picture, Windows Vista removes the last picture from the list entirely, leaving just the new picture and the default pictures. So, nobody likes dogs and fish picture to be on logon pictures. We can add pictures in the list of default pictures so that new pictures won’t get delete and we can use them again too.

When we go to change the simply pictures, we’ll open Control Panel User Accounts Change Your Picture to get the list of pictures. We can find these pictures which are stored in a hidden folder buried deep in our program data directory:  C:ProgramDataMicrosoftUser Account PicturesDefault Pictures
In this directory we can find the default pictures, so we can delete the pictures which we don’t want and add all the pictures we want to. And we want the pictures to be ordered in a certain way so we can name these files in order.
