Disable or hide optional updates on Windows Vista
As now days the computers are mostly connected to the internet and are connected to every website. Microsoft launches many updates to facilitate the users but some times they might be unwanted to someone. So there are always bundle of updates that are ready to be downloaded. The system always indicates us about the updates. These are some times very useful but some times very disturbing for the user as the unwanted updates also install in the system.
Recommended Updates:
Some updates are essential for the system as without them the Operating System do not work properly and can not work with the latest applications. Also if you do not install these updates there is a risk of some virus attack or some file hacking that might cause you a lot of data loss or even damages your system components
Optional Updates:
These updates may be some media applications or some other non important items that are no of much importance. They just enhance the system resources As you open the Windows Update you might see the number of options:
All you have to do is that click on the option of “View Updates”. Then check the option of “hide updates”, from the drop down menu.
If you ever again want to restore to the default settings due to some reason then you can go to the same menu and just uncheck the option that you have previously checked to hide updates. This is obviously very easy task.
