Force Windows 7/ Vista to Boot into Safe Mode Without Using the F8 Key

Sometimes while working we need to get into the safe mode but we’ll always have to press F8 at every boot. This is the normal and mostly recommended procedure. But if we want to work more in safe mode and login again and again and we just can’t seem to get the F8 key to work, So we’ll have to get in to safe mode directly without pressing F8.

There’s an option in the well-known System Configuration utility that will let us force Windows to always boot into Safe mode… until we turn the option off.

Force Windows to Boot into Safe Mode for Windows 7/ Vista

We can open up the start menu search or run box, and type in msconfig and hit the enter key.
Now select the Boot tab, and then check the box for “Safe boot” and make sure the radio button below is set to “Minimal”.
Once we hit the OK button we’ll be asked whether we want to Restart now or wait until later. Either way, the next boot will take us into the safe mode without pressing F8.

Once the computer is restarted, we’ll realize that we are in Safe Mode because it not only places that text in the four corners of the screen, but it even opens up the safe mode page from the help file in Windows 7 or Vista.
Now we can work on getting rid of that spyware or any other problem we wanted to solve.

Turn Safe Mode Back Off

When we are done fixing whatever the problem were working on, we’ll probably want to turn safe mode off and go back to normal Windows mode. Just open up msconfig in the safe mode the same way as opened before, and then on the Boot tab we’ll uncheck the “Safe boot” checkbox.
This method especially helps if we need to repeatedly boot into Safe mode.
