Hide Drives from Your Computer in Windows 7 or Vista

Sometimes one computer is under the usage of many persons even those persons have not makes their different. In this case one might be thinking very in secure about his data. His/her data might be caught by the other user due to not taking the appropriate safety measures.

Windows 7 gives the facility to hide the drive appearing on the face of “my computer” so that no one can get in them and can access the data which might precious for you. The windows 7 has the feature which can hide it and shown to the user by just doing some simple steps.

Step in hiding the drive appear on the “my computer” window:

Go to the start up menu and write the command “regedit.exe” in the box and then issue that command by enter the key. Then browse down to the explorer folder which is hidden in the software and then open the Microsoft and then access to the windows and the open the current version folder then user face the explorer folder. The make the no drive folder in the 32 bit folder.

Right click on the 32 bit folder then name the folder “no drive” and then select the “decimal” as the base and enter any number greater than 32 in the value data. Now the drives are hidden from “my computer window”

To see the drive again as those appear on the face of the “my computer” window; just go to the explorer folder again and delete that folder name “no drive” in the 32 bit folder. By deleting the folder user can see the drives easily again and can again access them through the “my computer”.
