But users can get rid from them and can easily maintain and keep up their context menu by following a quite and rather uncomplicated method that will surely clean up the menu.
There is the registry method through which context menu can be maintained and will not be messed up. Firstly, in the start menu or through the run box, user has to open up the regedit.exe. Users are going to face one difficulty that they have to browse more than one key because the items and other objects in the context menu are not present and there on the same spot and mark. So browsing to the following keys:
The above keys perform different functions. Like if the user wants to cover the items present in the Shell, he has to Shift + Right-Click. To further hide some of the more features present in the Shell, user has to create a new value and give it a name of “Extended”. In order to disable this working, user again has to produce a new value named by “Legacy Disable”. In case of Shellex, user has to browse to the following key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshellexContextMenuHandlers to hide the entire menu.
Instead of going through the registry process, user can clean up the context menu in their windows by manual way. User has to browse down until and unless he / she find the desired item or object to hide and then click the Disable button. Result will be immediate. Same scheme goes with the other keys. Both these methods i.e. registry and manual way works for all the version of windows.
