How to Recover Basic Passwords in Windows Vista

Windows Vista is best when it comes to personalize files and folders and stuff you do not want to share with other users. Password makes it easy to protect your data and account as well. In case you lost your password Windows Vista provides you with a In-built system which helps you find solutions regarding your password forgetting problem. This feature is very much useful for the user who frequently change passwords and sometimes forget the password .

Instructions

There is a way that if you have another user on your PC then he would be able to change your password for you through his own account. Try it but if it doesn’t work then there is a proper way you can follow to recover the password, i.e.

Step 1:

Log on to your Windows Vista administrator account which has all the changing setup. You can make settings, changes and addition of software programs. Now to proceed further to recover your password boot your Windows in “Safe Mode”.

Step 2:
From the ‘Start Menu’ click the “Run” button.

Step 3:

There appears a “Run” box on your monitor onto which you type your command that is “control user passwords 2” and run it by clicking “OK”.

Step 4:
Then it asks you to select your user account name. You select it from the list of user accounts available in the password recovery utility and then click onto “Reset Password” button.

Step 5:

A “New Password” box appears. You write your desired password into the box and then again in “Confirm Password” box below it. Click “OK”. The procedure is complete and now you can log into your account using your new password.

Step 6:

Do Remember and keep your new password safe .
