Securely Store Your Passwords with KeePass
Many users are worried about how to keep their password strong and secure.
In this article we shall discuss about how you will store your passwords with KeePass. Here we are using version 2.09 but you can also get Classic Edition through which you will get extra plugins. Now install KeePass by following the instructions and then create a new password database by clicking File ïƒ New or simply press ctrl + N.
Now you will need to setup a master password, long passwords with symbols, alphabets, digits, can be any phrase or sentence. The option is yours, but strong password is good.
You can also use key file, which is a password in a file. You can use it if you are having difficulties remembering the long and difficult password. Keep that file hidden in your hard drive where it is difficult to locate, otherwise in case of any malware attack and it found openly then you are gone…, also have a back up of that file so that it doesn’t matter if you have lost it.
Now you can add passwords, to do so press “insert” key from your keyboard.
Fill in the fields and password for your new entry. You can also let KeePass generate a random password for you. Once the entry is created, you can right click on that entry to get different options. When exiting, save your changes and a dialog box would prompt to do so upon exiting. When somebody try to access the database, he/she needs the Master Password.
The great feature of KeePass is Password generator that would create a random password for you. There are plug-ins that adds more functions, but every plug-in would not work with every version. Now you are done.
Keep you passwords super strong.
