Set XP as the Default OS in a Windows Vista Dual-Boot Setup
Many users have dual boot setup in their machines. They use it to get ease in their daily tasks. Like if someone likes Window XP but he like Windows Vista too, due to its functionality and ease of use, you can have dual boot setup.
The dual boot setup is not very easy to own, because there is lot more effort you have to do in order to own it. If you are gaming enthusiast and you don’t have that much performance components, you can use Windows XP for gaming because Windows XP is no that heavy on components as Windows Vista. You can use Windows Vista for your regular work like, internet surfing, documents, listening to songs, watching movies.
Windows Vista provides you the best available drivers for your every component. You can watch HD movie without the need of extra codec, because windows vista also have many audio/video codecs.
If you have Windows XP with separate drives, then Windows Vista Would set as the Default OS. You can pretty much change these default settings using a simple code, and it is not very difficult process you can do this in about 5 minutes.
So all you need to do is go to Start Menu and search for the word “cmd” (excluding “” signs). You have to open this command prompt as Administrator Command Prompt. To this you have to highlight (cursor on the result) the result and then press this combination in order to run this in Administrator Command Prompt:
Ctrl + shift + enter
Once the Administrator Command Prompt is open, enter the following Commands in it:
Bcdedit /default {ntldr}
Give you example:
C:Windowssystem32>bcdedit /default {ntldr}
Your work is done, from now on when start your computer, Windows XP will be the default OS.
